Programmes - The '70s & '80s

City's programmes continued in much the same style into the '70s, until the arrival of sponsorship (initially by Rothmans) brought a major change.
As sponsors changed - Berger, Servowarm and Vauxhall-Opel followed in Rothmans' footsteps - so the designs changed too. Other changes were influenced by changes in the Programme Editor.
The Club becoming a Limited Company, and its subsequent takeover by Free Newspapers, produced 'professionally printed' programmes in the 'Bobby Moore Era'.
As the '80s moved on there was a return to in-house production and the final style saw out the 87-88 season and City's unfortunate loss of the White House ground.
The bottom right programme is for what was to prove to be City's very last Isthmian League match at The White House on April 23rd 1988.
The City side that day was: Fleet, Polo del Bario, Mallinson, Blackmore, Burgess, Thorne, Bradbury, Caffell, Jenkins, Galbraith and Ward. (subs: Dark and Knight). Two goals from Steve Jenkins and another from Sean Bradbury gave them a 3-0 win.
