This is the inside of the programme for the Smoking Concert (a very Edwardian idea!) that was held to celebrate the Amateur Cup Final victory.

Revd. William Blackburn, William Smith, Guy Dickinson, Albert Scothern, Thomas Bumpus, Edgar Davis, Harold Tabernacle, Walter Keates, Gilbert Vassall, Gwynne Witherington, W.C. Gardner, Herbert Hodges, Frank Draper and Tom Organ.

1922 team

This photo (courtesy of the Oxford Journal Illustrated of March 15th 1922) was entitled "Some of the members of the City Club who will tour Portugal at Easter."
There was no identification, but 5th from the left is Fred Ansell; on his left Ben Brooker; then Bert Harley; and, on his left, Frank Hartley.
Bert Harley played in goal for City for many years. His debut was in an Isthmian League match at Ilford in November 1911, and his final 1st XI game was against the Civil Service in April 1925. He still kept goal regularly for the Reserves in the 1928/29 season, and, in total played 243 games for the 1st XI.

The City Reserve team photo from the 1930/31 season.
Back Row (L to R): Teddy Tobin, Reg Smith, C.S. Jones, Bill Jakeman, Encil Simmonds, A.E. Allen, Fred Arnold, G. Chapman.
Middle Row (L to R): W.F. Hunt, S.J. Mills, J.R. Benson (President), L.H. Hearn, H.R. Owens (Hon. Sec.), Jack Guilfoyle, George Deadman.
Front Row (L to R): 'Nipper' Jones, Bill Mullins, Frank Strange.

It was a free-scoring year for the Reserves as they scored 85 goals in 26 matches in the Isthmian Reserve Section; won the Bradley Hospital Cup (later the Oxford Charities Cup); and won the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.

The Senior Cup win saw an 8-3 demolition of Headington United at the White House with Nipper Jones scoring four, Jack Guilfoyle two and Bill Mullins and Frank Strange adding the others.

(My thanks to Mike Akers for the photograph.)
